Self-Realization

I'm trying to get familiar with who I am, everything about myself, and let me tell you folks, this is no easy task. Haha no sirree, getting to know myself may be one of the most intricate tasks I've taken on thus far. Some of you may think, well how do you not already know everything about you, because after-all that is who you live with everyday? The surprising answer to that question happens to be that is quite easy to not ever truly gain understanding about the person that everyday, stairs back in the mirror. In my opinion, most of us may not have the slightest clue.

This blog is based on my confession of that. I'm 25 years young, the experiences and journeys I have been through are countless; every one of them being part of who I am today, experienced two amazing long-term loves along with a good amount of short ones (all enjoyed), traveled and met  too many amazing people that I may never remember or see again, lost three of my grandparents, completed a Culinary Arts degree, had 4 cars, moved from 2 towns now, ect... and I STILL sat down with a piece of paper and pen not too long ago and tried to imagine all of life's usual factors being completely erased and seeing what I could imagine myself doing. You know what I came up that was a sure and solid answer? Nothing, not one answer could I put down that was sure as concrete (done by professionals or craftsman).

Self-realization is a intricate process because it requires us to take into account our strengths, weaknesses, passions, and piece them together so we may form a picture in our heads about the person we have become thus far, and decide if we are satisfied or if there changes needed to better shape who we wish to be. No matter what, self-love must be present and non-changing no matter the mistakes we make. Validating ourselves through others will only leave us empty and dissatisfied because we cannot be everything that everyone wants us to be.

Appreciation of your own unique life breeds contentment and fulfillment with what you already have. Never want for other's processions, experience, or status because doing so is discrediting the life you have and means that gratefulness is lacking. If we compare our lives to the lives of others then we are missing out on truly being involved with ourselves. If one cannot be happy with what they have already been given, then what makes them believe that more will create happiness?

We must be our own best friend, our own personal cheerleader. So many times we focus on the negative instead of the positive. Focus on the good aspects of who you are. Love yourself completely and truthfully, so you may grow into the proper adult that you are capable of becoming. Be glad you are who you are.

I'm not sure what the future will bring but I will say that I'm very excited to see it all unfold. I'm motivated to, for the first time, really try and understand myself so I may create a future that allows me to utilize my passions and create the change I wish to see in the world. Stay tuned to watch my journey unfold.

I'll end with this quote, which is very dear to me:
"I fervently believe that no matter what self-seeking we all must do, we should do it in a way that inflicts the least pain on others. Random acts of kindness are essential along our paths; respect and consideration for everyone is important regardless of the paths they've taken or fate in life they've been handed; above all, forgiveness and redemption are key values never to be forgotten." Questions..

I was going through my journal recently and I came across a writing of mine that I completely had forgotten about. I was very pleased to discover something I created, something that shows the beginning of my evolution to adulthood. I think deeply about philosophical issues and humanity's past, present, and future. Engaging in conversations with others about those topics, brings me limitless joy.

May we never be too busy to ponder in-depth, the questions that have been alive throughout the world for countless years. Thinking is always the first step to finding solutions. Cheers to that!

Countless chapters
No two the same length
Stack throughout time
Writing the legacies
Humans create with their lives

History never ceases moving forward
Each second’s tick symbolizes
A change in the book that never ends
But lingers in eternity
Having a presence that is known
But not given factual meaning

Information is born endlessly
But also dies endlessly
Leaving an immeasurable trail of holes
That will never be filled completely with future material
Questions thus, always being a permanent reality
Time pushing forward at a constant rate
Causes an infinite problem of never having
An equal ratio of answers to questions
